Morning Coffee Break at Bon Air Library: Songs from the Golden Days of Radio

Take a musical journey back to a time when friends and family gathered around the radio to listen to favorite songs from the hit parade.

William Parrish will perform cowboy songs, bluegrass and country music, popular Hawaiian tunes, and classics from the American Song Book.

Morning Coffee Break programs are recommended for adults aged 55 and better. Walgreens sponsors the Morning Coffee Break Series. Our thanks to them for providing refreshments and for their Wellness Welcomes at the start of each program.

Lego Club at Bon Air Library – Sept. 6th

Bon Air Library will provide the building bricks – kids supply the imagination! Photos of completed creations will be displayed in the library. Recommended for children 6-11 years old.

Oil Pastel Flower Party at Bon Air Library

Description: If you love art that is bursting with color and energy, join us to create a masterpiece using oil pastels! Each student will color a creative version of a vase of flowers. Please wear clothes that can get messy. Recommended for children 5-9 years old. Registration is required and begins Aug. 23. Please register only the children who will participate.

Morning Coffee Break at Bon Air Library: Raise a Ruckus! Virginia Folk Music 1607-1967

Historian Carson Hudson shares stories and family anecdotes featuring musical instruments as played in Virginia over the last 400 years.

Enjoy the sounds of flutes, whistles, harmonicas, dulcimers, banjos, diddley bows and jaw harps. No registration is required.

Bon Air Library to close Jan. 1st; reopening in June

The Bon Air Library is being completely renovated. On January 1, 2014, the library will close through the remainder of the renovations.  The completed library is expected to be reopened in June 2014.

Below is a list of important dates during the renovation:

  • Friday, December 20, 2013 is the last day to request a hold be sent to Bon Air.
  • Tuesday, December 31, 2013 is when the Bon Air library will close for renovation at 5:00 p.m. The Bon Air book drop will be unavailable once the library has closed, items may be returned to other branches. Please do not leave library materials outside of the building.
  • Friday, January 3, 2014 is the first day that a Bon Air hold item can be picked up at Midlothian. If you would prefer a different pick-up location, please call any other CCPL branch for assistance.
  • June 2014 is when the Bon Air library is expected to reopen in time for the Summer Reading Kickoff.

The nearest branches are Midlothian, LaPrade, and Meadowdale.

Whimsical Winter Tales with a Twist at Bon Air Library

YOU choose the story – and watch it performed on the spot! The FOOLS – The Fantastically Original Officially Licensed Storytellers – show off their uniquely silly style of improvisational storytelling.

Recommended for children 5-9 years old.

Take a festive musical journey back to the first Christmas carol and revisit stories of the season.

Lamar Banister wears Victorian period dress and plays a variety of instruments. Get in the holiday spirit with seasonal favorites!

No registration is required.

Refreshments are provided compliments of the Friends of the Library.
