Balloons and the Beginning of Aerial Reconnaissance in the Civil War at Bon Air Library
Civil War spies…in balloons? Learn about the use of balloons for reconnaissance during the Civil War, by both the Union and Confederate armies, and the formation and eventual failure of the U.S. Balloon Corps. Program conducted by the Virginia Museum of the Confederacy.

Backyard Wildlife at Bon Air Library on April 27th
Get an up-close look at owls, opossums, turtles and snakes as you learn about animal behavior, diets and habitats.
Meet the wildlife ambassadors of A.W.A.R.E., the Alliance of Wild Animal Rehabilitators & Educators. Share stories about the wildlife in your own backyard and discover how we can coexist with wildlife. Pick up a copy of A.W.A.R.E.’s wish list of care items. Donations will be accepted at all libraries through May 4.

Family DIY Workshop: Build a Bluebird House
Build a bluebird house with your family, and learn about bluebird life cycles and habitats with the Richmond Audubon Society.
Materials will be provided for each family to build one bluebird house together during the workshop, in time for nesting season.
Families must bring their own hammer and medium-sized Phillips-head screwdriver.

Bon Air native, Terrie Powers, painted three historical Bon Air sites and is now offering limited edition prints for sale.
They are matted and fit into an 11″ x 14″ frame. Each print sells for $45.

Get Your House in Order: Build a Strong Financial Foundation – Free at Bon Air Library
To get your finances in order, you need to know what tools you need and how to use them.
In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to set goals and create a financial plan, while discovering ways to budget and reduce debt. Learn tips on building savings, and get an introduction to banking and investing. Get comfortable with the basic tools, and begin building a strong financial foundation!
