Bon Air Village Fair

The Bon Air Elementary School PTA will host the 20th annual “Bon Air Village Fair and Silent Auction” this Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on the school grounds.

The family-friendly event will feature D.J. Chris Knight, a “Colossal Climbing Tower,” a “Giant Inflated Double-Drop Slide,” an “Inflated Soccer Challenge,” the ACAC Moonbounce, a doughnut-eating race, fair-style food including movie-style popcorn, cotton candy and caramel apples (along with grilled burgers and chicken), performances by the Minds in Motion XXL student dance group and Legacy School of Dance, and other activities.

For 20 years, Village Fair sponsors have provided most of the necessary financial support needed for the giant fair inflatables and games. Businesses, mostly local ones, have also donated thousands of dollars in donations for the silent auction including hotel stays, arts and crafts, fine and costume jewelry, restaurant vouchers, children’s items, service vouchers, kids’ camps etc. To see this year’s full auction list, visit the Village Fair / Auction portion of the PTA website at www.bonairpta.com.

Lynda Cosmo, Village Fair Chairman for the Bon Air PTA noted, “The Bon Air Village Fair planning committee has gone all out this year to get the best inflatables, games, food and entertainment. We’ve even built a Village Fair 20th Anniversary photo booth for families to create a special keepsake from this special milestone event. With all we have planned and a forecast for great weather, this 20th Anniversary Celebration is sure to be the best Village Fair yet for all of the kids and their families!” Bruce Tetlow, Principal of Bon Air Elementary School, added, “I can hardly believe our village fair has been held every fall for 20 years…It has grown so much since the first one. It is truly remarkable and amazing that our PTA has been able to host this event each year for so long because it truly takes a lot of planning, financial support, and volunteer time to bring it all together…and it only seems to get better every year!”
